Uttar Pradesh: This time the Aam Aadmi Party has decided to gear up for the municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh as well. In this regard, before the civic elections in the state, AAP has started a campaign named ‘Gandgi Hatao, Jhobo Chalao’. In this campaign an attempt has been made to target three issues – cleanliness, corruption and BJP. A similar campaign is being run by the party in the national capital, where elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) are round the corner, with the AAP making the city’s waste disposal and its three landfill sites a major issue.
‘The campaign will run till November 15’
The election in-charge of Uttar Pradesh’s Aam Aadmi Party, Sabhajit Singh said that the campaign will continue till November 15. During this, the party will organize padyatras, mohalla meetings, cycle rallies and local meetings to create awareness among the people. He said that focusing on caste issues like other parties in Uttar Pradesh is not the working style of Aam Aadmi Party. Our working model is based on improving infrastructure like health, education, water, roads and so on. A party functionary said the BJP has a poor track record in municipal issues, even though the party has been in power for many years.
