In Gujarat’s Morbi district, the bridge collapsed in the past. Many families perished due to this accident. Adani Group has given a big gift for the children of those killed in the accident. Adani Foundation has announced a grant of Rs 5 crore for 20 children of those killed in this accident. This benefit will also be given to those pregnant women whose husband died in this accident.

Pregnant women who lost their husband in the accident will also get benefits

According to official records, 7 children were orphaned after losing both their parents and 12 children lost one of their parents in the bridge collapse. Adani Foundation is working with Morbi district administration to set up an assistance amount of Rs.25 lakh each for these children as well as unborn children of pregnant women who lost their husbands in this tragedy .

According to Dr. Preeti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, “He is deeply saddened by this casualty. The most seriously affected are young children, many of whom are yet to be told whether their parents or both have ever been Will not return home. We ensure in this time of crisis that these children have proper means to get proper education and make a living in future. That is why we have decided to set up a fund to provide them the necessary financial support. Has decided.”

Commitment letter handed over to District Collector

The Executive Director of Adani Foundation, Mr. Vasant Gadvi handed over the commitment letter for the principal amount to the District Collector of Morbi. Established in 1996, the Adani Foundation is one of the largest social organizations in the world, with outreach programs covering 3.7 million people in 2,409 villages across India. It focuses on quality education, community health, skill development, sustainable livelihood development and rural infrastructure development, and supports a number of special projects for child nutrition and women’s empowerment.

The accident happened on the day of Chhath Puja

The tragic accident on the occasion of Chhath Puja in Morbi, Gujarat shook the entire country. At least 135 people lost their lives and over 180 were injured when a swinging bridge built in the 1880s over the Machhu river in Morbi collapsed on the evening of October 30, 2022.
