Following SC’s nod to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at Hubli Idgah ground in Karnataka, Dalit organizations and AIMIM submitted memorandums to civic authorities seeking permission to celebrate Tipu Jayanti there. Shri Ram Sena has also given a memorandum seeking permission to celebrate Kanakdas Jayanti there. Let us tell you, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated at the disputed Hubli Idgar Maidan. Now the people of AIMIM are demanding to celebrate Tipu Jayanti on 10th November on this ground.

Let us tell you that this ground came in the discussion across the country when there was an overnight hearing from the High Court to the Supreme Court regarding the permission for Ganesh Chaturthi worship. Along with this, a hearing was also held regarding Chamarajpet Idgah in Bangalore. The Karnataka High Court had allowed the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi festival at Hubli ground, while the Supreme Court ordered status quo to be maintained at Chamarajpet Idgah ground in Bengaluru.

SC’s decision on Bengaluru Idgah ground A bench of Justices Indira Banerjee, Abhay S Oka, MM Sundaresh gave this order while reversing the Karnataka High Court’s decision on the petition of the Karnataka Waqf Board. The Supreme Court in its judgment had ordered to maintain status quo. That is, worship cannot be done here. Earlier, the Karnataka High Court had given permission to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at Chamarajpet Idgah ground in Bengaluru.
