Gorakhpur (UP): President of Progressive Samajwadi Party (Lohia) Shivpal Singh Yadav (Shivpal Singh Yadav) on Tuesday alleged that his nephew and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav is “surrounded by sycophants”. Shivpal Yadav, younger brother of SP founder late Mulayam Singh Yadav, who came here to attend an event, commented on Akhilesh Yadav saying, “He is surrounded by sycophants who believe only in flattery.” Akhilesh Yadav Shivpal’s comment on (Akhilesh Yadav) is also important because after the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, he took a jibe at his nephew and made it clear that the differences and differences between the two have not ended.

‘We stay away from greedy people’

On the candidature of Tej Pratap, the grandson of former MP Tej Pratap, who is in the news as a possible alternative to the seat that fell vacant after the death of the SP patron, Shivpal said, “First the name should be announced by the SP, we will later will see.” By the way, Shivpal kept silence on the question of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s second daughter-in-law Aparna Singh Yadav contesting from Mainpuri. Aparna Yadav had left the SP and joined BJP even before the 2022 UP assembly elections. Shivpal was warmly welcomed by party workers and office bearers in Gorakhpur.

After Netaji’s death, there was speculation of uncle-nephew joining hands again
SP founder and three-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away on October 10, 2022 at the age of 82. The close ties between Shivpal Singh and Akhilesh Yadav during the rituals related to the funeral of Mulayam Singh Yadav, which lasted for almost a fortnight, had sparked speculation of the “uncle-nephew” joining hands again. Shivpal Singh and Akhilesh Yadav came together in March to take on the BJP during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, but after the elections, the relationship did not remain smooth and they parted ways again.

In the UP assembly elections in March, Shivpal contested from Jaswantnagar assembly constituency on the SP mark and won. But after the election he was not called for the party meeting. Shivpal had supported BJP’s choice Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election and was also seen close to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on several occasions. There was a possibility that the uncle-nephew would campaign for the SP candidate for the Gola Gokarnath by-election on November 3, but it did not happen.
