Terrorism In Jammu-Kashmir: A huge cache of ammunition was recovered after a terrorist hideout was detected in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday. Police said that on specific inputs from a credible source, police in Baramulla along with Army 52RR busted a terrorist hideout in Dudbagh-TY Shah forest area of ​​Baramulla and recovered ammunition. A joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area and during this time two boxes of ammunition, including 1,460 rounds for AK-47 and a bag from an underground hideout under a tree, were found. All the recovered material has been taken into police custody for the purpose of investigation.

Police said the timely recovery of ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident and foiled the nefarious plans of terrorist organizations to derail peace and harmony in the Kashmir Valley. A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at the police station and further investigation is on.

Two terrorists killed in Bomai area of ​​Sopore

Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Sopore area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. An encounter broke out in Bomai area of ​​Sopore town on Wednesday night after security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said. He said the security personnel killed two terrorists in the operation. A civilian was also injured in the firing. A senior police official said that the terrorists were affiliated to the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. He said that both were plotting to attack civilians.

Kashmir’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar tweeted, “Slain terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed have been identified as Mohammad Rafi of Sopore and Kaiser Ashraf of Pulwama. Terrorist Rafi was booked under PSA twice earlier. Both were involved in several terrorist crimes. According to information, they were planning to attack civilians in Sopore area.
