Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a tough stand on fake madrassas. The government has prepared for action on illegal madrassas and has issued a decree to all the district magistrates to identify unrecognized madrassas. By October 25, the DM will send his report to the government and after that action will be taken against fake madrassas. At the same time, AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi has called it a small NRC. Speaking to India TV, Owaisi said that this is being done to defame Muslims in the country.
‘Madrasas are being targeted’
Speaking to India TV, Owaisi said, “If the Uttar Pradesh government is conducting a survey with a positive mindset, then it should have done survey of Vidya Mandir, Saraswati Shishu Mandir and other government and private schools in UP.” But instead you are conducting a survey of those madrasas of a particular community which do not get money from the government. Madrasas are being targeted. This is being done to defame Muslims in the country. The backwardness of Muslims is not because of madrassas but because of wrong thinking of BJP and RSS.
‘Every madrassa in the country should be surveyed’
Where Owaisi questioned the survey and said that the survey of madrasas is like NRC in a way, the Yogi government wants to harass the Muslims, in response, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that there should be a survey of every madrasa in the country and the Yogi government The move is commendable. After the controversy started on the survey, the UP government has put forth its stand. Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Ansari made a statement that the intention of the government is positive. He said, ‘The complete report of madrasas, complete accounts should be with the government. The survey is being conducted only to get the correct information about madrasas.
This is why Yogi government wants to investigate fake madrasas.
What is Yogi government’s plan?
The survey team will visit all the blocks, gram sabha and nagar panchayat levels of every district of UP and identify unrecognized madrassas. Survey team will be formed in every district by September 10. The survey work will be completed by October 5. After this the report will be prepared and by October 25, all the district magistrates will have to send their report to the government. The government wants to check illegal madrassas through this survey and wants to know how unrecognized madrassas are funded, how many students study in madrassas and what they are taught.
After Assam, now UP’s number?
Let us tell you that in Assam, bulldozers are going on in madrasas and till now 3 madrasas have been bulldozed in this state. The government of Assam alleges that terrorist activities were being carried out from these madrasas, so action is being taken. After Assam, the Yogi government of UP has come into action and is identifying and conducting a survey of fake madrasas. The question in the minds of the people is whether the Yogi government of UP will also get bulldozers run on fake madrassas like Assam, or will take any other action.
