All the teams have to announce the teams by August 8 evening. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of a player returning to Team India, that is KL Rahul. KL Rahul has also not been included in the team touring Zimbabwe.

KL Rahul played his last T20 International match in November 2021

KL Rahul has been running out of Team India for a long time. It is not that he is out on the basis of performance, but some injury is keeping him out of the team. He played his last T20 International match in November of the year 2021, when there was a match between India and South Africa in Ranchi. Since then he has not been able to play for India. That is, it has been almost nine months since he was out of the team. However, in the meantime he played for his new team LSG in the IPL and the team also performed well. Rahul has been out of cricketing action since his inclusion in the IPL 2022 Eliminator in Kolkata on May 25. His new team Lucknow Super Giants lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 14 runs at the Eden Gardens. He was then named as the captain for India’s five-match T20I series at home against South Africa in June. But he was ruled out of the series due to injury before the opening match in New Delhi. After this, Rahul went to Germany for a surgery, after which he was ruled out of the tour of England and ODIs against West Indies.

Team India’s opener problem will be solved by the arrival of Rahul
KL Rahul was recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, but missed out on selection for the T20I against West Indies due to a corona infection and was not named in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. In the absence of KL Rahul, many openers were tried in the Indian team. Sometimes it was opened by Rishabh Pant and sometimes it was opened by Surya Kumar Yadav. But if KL Rahul returns to the team, then he will open and the problem of Team India’s opening pair will also be solved.
