The doors of Badrinath Dham, the abode of Lord Badri Vishal, located in Uttarakhand, were closed on Saturday afternoon. The doors of the Dham closed today at 3:35 pm for the winter season. Now for the next 6 months, the worship of Lord Badrinath will be done in Pandukeshwar and Joshimath. The lion gate of Badrinath Dham was decorated with marigold flowers.
On Friday, during the closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham, on the fourth day of Panch Pujas, the worship of Mata Lakshmi was concluded. Kadhai bhog was offered during the puja. On Saturday, chief priest Ishwari Prasad Namboodari dressed as a woman installed the idol of Goddess Lakshmi in the sanctum sanctorum of Badrinath Dham and brought the idols of Uddhav and Kuber ji to the temple premises.
A woolen blanket soaked in ghee was offered to the deity.
Along with this, Ghrit Kambal (wool blanket soaked in ghee) prepared by the women of Mahila Mangal Dal of Mana village was covered to Lord Badrinath. After this, at 3.35 pm, the doors of Badrinath Dham were closed for winter.
During this, only police personnel and two employees of the temple committee are deployed in Badrinath Dham. Due to Badrinath Dham being close to China border area, ITBP jawans live in Mana village. After the closure of the doors of Badrinath Dham, along with the villagers of Bamani and Mana villages residing here, businessmen leave Badrinath Dham and go to the lower areas. After this, no common person is allowed to go beyond Hanuman Chatti except army personnel.
