Shahjahanpur: The guest house of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader has been sealed in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the police have locked the guest house of Shahjahanpur’s former town panchayat president and BJP leader Ajay Kumar Gupta. At the same time, Malig Ajay Kumar Gupta of the guest house has called it a conspiracy of political rivals. The police had raided this guest house on information about ‘dirty work’ and arrested several young men and women from the spot.
‘Only people above 18 years of age are given room’
Former president of Rosa Nagar Panchayat and BJP leader Ajay Kumar Gupta said on Tuesday that only people above 18 years of age are given rooms in his guest house. He said that all those arrested by the police are above 18 years of age. He said that CCTV cameras are installed in his guest house and the guest house was raided due to political rivalry. Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said that 7 women and 7 men were arrested on Monday from Asha Mannat Guest House in Rosa police station area.
‘Some girls were engaged in prostitution’
According to Sanjay Kumar, some of these girls were allegedly involved in prostitution while some were in love. He told that Police Station Roja had received information that unethical work was being done at Asha Mannat Guest House, after which the police raided there. Kumar said that the interrogation of the accused revealed that some of the girls found in the guest house were engaged in prostitution. He said that as soon as the police raided, hotel managers Anoop Kumar and Kunal Gupta and guest house owner Ajay Kumar Gupta fled away.
