Hyderabad Liberation Day: Hyderabad state is going to complete 75 years of independence. On this occasion, the central government has announced to organize programs throughout the year. Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy gave this information on Saturday. He said that Home Minister Amit Shah would inaugurate the function on September 17. Reddy said that by writing a letter to the Chief Ministers of Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra, they have been invited to the inaugural function to be held at the Hyderabad Parade Ground. But in the meantime AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has written 2 letters to the Union Home Minister and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Owaisi has demanded in this letter that the celebration of ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ should be celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
“Celebration should be celebrated in the name of National Unity Day”
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said in a press conference, “The Government of India has decided to celebrate ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ in Telangana on 17th September. On behalf of AIMIM, I have written 2 letters to Home Minister Amit Shah and Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao. ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ should be celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. What happened was the unification of the princely states which were under autocratic rulers like the Nizam of Hyderabad and this incident happened because the people of the region were in support of it ”
“Those who were not happy left the country”
Owaisi said that we never opposed the festival. There is no evidence of any AIMIM leader speaking against the party. You have to understand the history of Hyderabad, it also has reports of Pandit Sundarlal and Qazi Abdul Ghaffar. He said that no one is unhappy that our region is a part of the Indian Union. Those who were not happy left the country and those who loved the land were left behind.
Motorcycle tricolor rally organized in Hyderabad
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi announced during his press conference that his party would also organize a motorcycle tricolor rally in Hyderabad on September 16 to mark the occasion. He said that all the party members including MLAs, MLCs and party councilors will participate in the rally with me. Owaisi said the national flag would be unfurled and a public meeting would be held. He also demanded that the names of Muslim freedom fighters Maulvi Alauddin and Turebaz Khan should also be recognized. Owaisi said that these freedom fighters were killed while fighting the British in the then Hyderabad state.
Telangana government announced after Owaisi’s letter
Soon after Asaduddin Owaisi’s letter, the Telangana government has decided to observe ‘Telangana National Unity Day’ on September 16, 17 and 18. Telangana Chief Minister’s Office has given this information. The decision comes after AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi urged the state and the Center to observe September 17 as ‘National Unity Day’ instead of ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’.
