karnataka news: Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra on Saturday indicated that those involved in the recent killing of a BJP worker in Dakshina Kannada district were local and efforts were on to nab them. The Karnataka Police had earlier suspected that the murder was related to Kerala and had sent a team to the neighboring state, as the spot is close to the border of the neighboring state.

The state home minister told the media, “As per the information, the people involved in the murder of Praveen from Bellare are local people of Mangaluru (Dakshina Kannada) district.” “Their background like the organization they belong to, the police are probing from all these angles and making every effort to nab them,” he said.

The assailants were killed by motorcycle riders

Praveen Nettar, 32, a district member of Bhartiya Yuva Morcha Samiti, was murdered by unidentified motorcyclist assailants at Bellare in Dakshina Kannada district on the night of 26 July. The Karnataka Police had arrested two suspects belonging to the Popular Front of India (PFI) from Ballare in connection with the murder. The state government has handed over the murder investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Fazil was murdered after Praveen Nettaru

At the same time, six people have been arrested in connection with the murder of minority community youth Fazil in Surathkal, Karnataka. After the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Nettaru in Bellary on July 28, tension had spread in the area. Police said the arrested persons are residents of Surathkal. The police had earlier detained Ajit Crasta, the owner of the car used by the accused and after interrogation, traced the accused on the basis of the information provided by him. Police said that the accused were arrested from near Udayavar.

All accused involved in murder in Fazil murder case

According to Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, all the six accused in the Fazil murder case were directly involved in the murder. Shashi Kumar said that initially the accused discussed who should be their target. Regarding this, they considered the names of seven persons and finally decided to target Fazil. The commissioner said that the real reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
