Actually, a match of Afghanistan’s Shapagiza T20 Cricket League was being played at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium, when there was a suicide blast and there was a stir. According to the report, many people died in this blast and some people were also injured.
The players were taken inside the bunker
After the blast during the live match, there was chaos in the stadium for some time. Players from both the teams were taken inside the bunker. Surprisingly, United Nations officials were also present in the stadium when the attack took place. The match was halted for about an hour after the blast. However, the fight resumed after getting the green signal from the police. After this, the team of Band-e-Amir Dragons achieved the new target of 94 runs in 10 overs with 17 balls to spare under the Duckworth-Lewis rule. Earlier, Pamir Zalmi’s team had scored 159 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Match resumed in one hour
Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan told ESPNcricinfo that the Kabul police rushed to the scene immediately after the blast and conducted a thorough investigation, vacating the stands where the blast took place. An hour later, he cleared us to start the match again.
Significantly, in this match of Shapagiza T20 Cricket League, many big and international players of Afghanistan were also playing. In this, Shapoor Zadran Pamir Zalmi, who played in the World Cup, was captaining the team. Apart from them, Daulat Zadran and Mohammadullah Najibullah were also part of the match.
