Bus going to President Murmu program overturned one dead many injured

A bus full of people going from Jabalpur to participate in the President’s program organized in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh overturned in Katni district. One has died and more than 10 people have been injured in this accident. State level Tribal Pride Day program was organized in Shahdol on the occasion of Tribal Day. President Draupadi Murmu took part in this program as the chief guest.

Hundreds of people reached Shahdol from different parts of the state. A passenger bus from Jabalpur was going towards Shahdol carrying some people, when the bus overturned uncontrollably near Pakariya village on Sihora road of Umaria Pan police station area. One person has died in this accident, while more than 10 people have been injured. All of them have been taken to various hospitals for treatment.

First visit to Madhya Pradesh after becoming President

It is noteworthy that President Draupadi Murmu was given a grand welcome on reaching Jabalpur today on a two-day stay in Madhya Pradesh. This is Murmu’s first visit to Madhya Pradesh after becoming the President. The President is on a visit to the state to attend the tribal convention organized on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda at Lalpur, Shahdol.

Earlier, according to the pre-scheduled schedule, the President reached Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi at around 9.30 am on Tuesday, where she was received by Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Murmu was presented a ‘guard of honour’ at the airport. After this, she reached the memorial of Birsa Munda located in Ulihatu of Khunti directly by an army helicopter, where she paid tribute to the brave martyr.
