Central Vista: The work of Central Vista, which is considered to be the dream project of the Modi government, is going on very fast. This is the reason that in a few days, Prime Minister Modi is going to inaugurate a part of the Central Vista. The Central Vista Avenue along the Rajpath will have state-wise food stalls, red granite walkways with greenery all around, vending zones, parking lots and round the clock security. However, people coming here will miss just one thing that they will not be allowed to eat in the garden area from India Gate to Man Singh Road.

Prime Minister will inaugurate on this date

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the entire stretch from Vijay Chowk to India Gate as part of his government’s ambitious Central Vista redevelopment project on the evening of September 8, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry officials said. This section will open to the public after 20 months. On the day of the inauguration, visitors will not be allowed to go from India Gate to Man Singh Road, but can use the rest of the stretch. After this, from September 9, the entire section will be opened to the general public. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the project’s executive agency, has set up five vending zones, where 40 vendors (each as per the plan) will be allowed and will not be allowed to sell their goods to visitors in the garden area.

Rules set for food stalls
In this regard, a senior official said that there will be two blocks near India Gate and each block will have eight shops. He said that some states have shown interest in setting up their own food stalls. “Ice-cream carts will be allowed to ply only in the vending zones. Though we have not taken any decision, we will ensure that these ice-cream trolleys are not allowed on the roads,” the official said. There will be heavy deployment of policemen and security guards to ensure that no theft takes place and newly established facilities are not damaged, the official said.

What else to do in Central Vista
About 80 security guards will keep a watch on the route, the official said. He said that there are 16 bridges on the entire stretch. At the same time, another official said that parking space has been made for 1,125 vehicles in the entire part and parking space has been earmarked for 35 buses near India Gate. Besides that, there are many other great things to do. The Central Vista redevelopment project includes a new triangular Parliament building, a common Central Secretariat, rejuvenation of the three kilometer Rajpath, new Prime Minister’s residence and offices and a new Vice President’s Enclave.
