Chhattisgarh News: A no-confidence motion moved by the state’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party against the Congress-led Bhupesh Baghel government was debated in the Chhattisgarh Assembly till late on Wednesday. The BJP has said that this government has lost the trust of the people. During the debate on the no-confidence motion in the Assembly on Wednesday, members of the opposition attacked the Congress government for its “internal fighting”, alleged corruption and non-fulfilment of poll promises. On the other hand, the ruling party denied the allegations and claimed that the opposition has failed to move the no-confidence motion with any concrete issue.
Opposition targeted the government
The debate on the no-confidence motion began at around 12.15 pm on the last day of the six-day monsoon session of the state assembly. The discussion on the no-confidence motion in the House continued till late night. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Dharamlal Kaushik presented the charge sheet in the House. Initiating the discussion on the no-confidence motion, senior BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal targeted the Congress government and said that a minister of the government has expressed no confidence in the Chief Minister and the administration also does not have faith in the government. Aggarwal said, “Why didn’t the Chief Minister expel that minister? The Chief Minister does not have the courage. Even the minister does not have the guts and wants to continue in the cabinet.
State is in debt: BJP
BJP MLA Aggarwal was saying in relation to Minister TS Singhdev. Singhdeo had resigned from the Panchayat and Rural Development Department on 16th of this month. However, he still has four other departments. In the resignation letter sent to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Singhdeo had said, “Keeping in view the important topics in line with the ideology of the public manifesto, I am of the opinion that in the present circumstances it is difficult to fulfill all the goals of the department with dedication. I am unable Therefore, I am disassociating myself from the charge of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.” Minister Singhdeo has been absent in the Assembly during the monsoon session. Agarwal said that due to poor financial management, the state is in debt to the tune of Rs 1.75 lakh crore.
