Pradeep’s relatives told the police that the villagers had objected that Muktidham belonged to their society, so they would not allow others to perform the last rites there.

At the same time, some villagers also tried to block the road. Police officials said that following the complaint, the police arrested eight people, including the sarpanch, and the body was cremated. He told that the deceased Pradeep belonged to the Scheduled Caste society and the villagers who protested are from the Scheduled Tribes society.
