Forecast of rain in many states

Weather update: Cold has knocked in many states of North India. The weather is likely to remain dry in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh today and Tuesday. At the same time, light rain may occur in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today. Apart from this, the weather will remain dry in the northeastern regions as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka today.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, there will be heavy rains in Tamil Nadu from 15 to 17 November. The Meteorological Department has also predicted thunder and lightning in Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours. The possibility of light rain has also been expressed in western Rajasthan and Haryana.

There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over most parts of northwest India during next 48 hours. However, the temperature is expected to drop by 2-3 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature will decrease by 2 to 4 degree Celsius over many parts of central India during the next three days.

Snowfall in Himachal-Jammu-Kashmir

Due to snowfall in four districts of Himachal Pradesh, there has been a sharp drop in the temperature. There has been snowfall in the higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla and Chamba districts of the state. Whereas, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Banihal in Kashmir and Doda and Poonch in Jammu received snowfall. It is also raining intermittently in the plains of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the winter has increased.

Forecast of heavy rain in many states

Heavy rains are likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep. Thereafter, there will be a rapid decline in rain activity. There is a possibility of rain in isolated areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 15 and 16 November. Whereas, on 16 and 17 November, there is a possibility of stormy weather (wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) over south Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal.

At the same time, it will be partly cloudy in Jammu and Kashmir from Tuesday to Friday. After this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall on Saturday. According to the Meteorological Department, no major snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir till November 20.
