Congress Protest : Congress party took to the streets today against inflation and unemployment. During the protest of Congress, many leaders including former party president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were detained by the police. The leaders who participated in the party’s demonstration were wearing black clothes. Congress MPs led by Rahul Gandhi took out a march from Parliament House to Rashtrapati Bhavan. However, the police stopped him midway and took him into custody.

The Congress is holding a nationwide protest on Friday against inflation and unemployment, under which Congress Working Committee (CWC) members and senior party leaders were planning to ‘gherao’ the Prime Minister’s residence. Many party leaders and workers had gathered at the Congress headquarters for this. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also reached the Congress headquarters at ’24 Akbar Road’ to attend the gherao program of the Prime Minister’s residence, from where she was taken into custody. Before being taken into custody, she sat on a dharna on the road for some time.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi also briefly joined it before the march of party MPs started from the Parliament House. Before being taken into custody, Rahul Gandhi alleged that democracy was being murdered in the country. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, ‘This autocratic government is feeling scared. From the condition of India, from the backbreaking inflation and historical unemployment, from the ruin brought by our policies. He who is afraid of the truth threatens those who raise their voice!’

Deprived of democratic rights – Jairam Ramesh

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted, “Today once again Congress MPs were denied the democratic right to protest against inflation, unemployment and GST. We were packed into a police van at Vijay Chowk. One thing is clear, only those who are afraid try to scare!’ Ramesh claimed, “For the last three months since the Congress President has announced ‘Bharat Jodo’ Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Threat-GV has intensified the poisonous politics of vengeance and fear against the Congress party and our leaders. Is. It is not just a coincidence.” The Delhi Police on Friday did not allow the Congress to protest in the national capital, citing the imposition of Section 144 in New Delhi district.
