- 18,313 new cases of corona registered across the country
- 57 people died in the last 24 hours
Corona Update: After 18,313 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in India in a day, the number of infected in the country increased to 4,39,38,764. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment has come down to 1,45,026. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday, the death toll in the country increased to 5,26,110 after 57 more people died due to infection. The number of patients under treatment for Kovid-19 in the country has come down to 1,45,026, which is 0.34 percent of the total cases.
Decrease in the number of patients by 2,486
In the last 24 hours, there was a decrease in the number of patients under treatment by 2,486. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.47 percent. According to the data, the daily infection rate is 4.31 percent, while the weekly infection rate is 4.57 percent. So far, more than 87.36 crore samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the country, out of which 4,25,337 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. A total of 4,32,67,571 people have become infection free in the country so far and the death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.2 percent. At the same time, 202.79 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
57 people died of corona in 24 hours
Significantly, on 7 August 2020, the number of infected people in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 25 this year, the cases of infection had crossed four crores. According to ministry data, 57 cases of death due to infection were reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Of these, 19 in Kerala, 12 in Maharashtra, seven in West Bengal, four in Meghalaya, two each in Bihar, Delhi and Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh. One case has come to the fore.
