Cristiano Ronaldo Record: Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo has added another record to his record book. The 37-year-old star player created history by scoring a goal in the very first match of the 2022 Football World Cup. Ronaldo made the world record as soon as he scored against Ghana in the 65th minute. He has now become the first and only player in the world to score goals in five different Football World Cups.

Ronaldo had earlier scored goals in the years 2018, 2014, 2010 and 2006 World Cup. This was his 8th goal in World Cup history against Ghana. Talking about Ronaldo’s international football career, he has scored 117 goals so far.

Talking about the match, the world number 9 team at Doha’s Stadium 974 was given the lead in the 65th minute by captain Ronaldo before Jaao Felix (78th) and Rafael Liao (80th) also scored for Portugal. Captain Andre Ayew (73rd minute) and Usman Bukhari (89th minute) scored for Ghana. Ronaldo scored three goals in 15 minutes as Portugal recovered from a slow start to beat Ghana 3-2 in their FIFA World Cup Group H match here on Thursday.

Portugal’s margin of victory against world number 61 Ghana could have been bigger but the trio of Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes let down for most of the opening hour of the match. There was also a lack of finishing from the players of Portugal. The Portuguese forwards failed to take advantage of this, despite Ghana’s players making a lot of mistakes in the match.
