On Monday, Dev Deepawali was organized in Kashi, the city of Mahadev, with full joy and gaiety and 10 lakh lamps were lit at 84 ghats on the banks of the Ganges. Around 11 lakh lamps were lit in the city to help the residents of Kashi. Although Dev Deepawali is celebrated on the evening of Kartik Purnima, but due to the lunar eclipse yesterday, it was celebrated only today.

According to the district administration, 10 lakh diyas were lit by the state government at 84 ghats on the banks of river Ganga, while about 11 lakh diyas were lit with public participation. A senior district administration official said that on the occasion of Dev Deepawali, around eight lakh diyas have been lit at 84 ghats on the western bank of the Ganges. Along with this, the east coast was also illuminated with about two lakh diyas. At the same time, the residents of the city have decorated the entire city with about 11 lakh diyas. The temples, ponds and other places in the city were lit with lamps by the townspeople.

At the same time, the MP from Varanasi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated him on Dev Deepawali. According to the beliefs, on this day all the gods come to the ghats of Kashi and celebrate Diwali in the joy of victory of Lord Shiva. Goddess Ganga is worshiped on this day. Lakhs of diyas are lit from Ravidas Ghat in Kashi to Lerap Raj Ghat.
