The construction of the mosque on the land given to Muslims in Ayodhya on the orders of the Supreme Court is expected to be completed by December 2023. A senior official of the Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation Trust, which is building the mosque, said, “It will be a coincidence that the construction of the mosque’s structure will also be completed around the completion of the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. The land on which this mosque will be built has been given to the Muslim side in compliance with the order pronounced by the Supreme Court in the Ram Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid case. The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board has formed the Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation Trust for the construction of the mosque. Trust’s secretary Athar Hussain told PTI-language on Sunday, “We hope to get the map of the mosque, hospital, community kitchen, library and research center from the Ayodhya Development Authority by the end of this month. After that we will start the construction work of the mosque.”
The name of the mosque will be ‘Dhannipur Ayodhya Masjid’.
He said, “Though the foundation will start the construction of other things along with the mosque, but because the mosque is small, it is likely to be ready soon. Although no deadline has been fixed for its construction, but hopefully next time.” Within a year (by December 2023) we will get the structure of the mosque ready.” Hussain informed that the mosque and other facilities will be constructed according to the same design that the trust had issued earlier. He said the name of the mosque would be ‘Dhannipur Ayodhya Masjid’ while the entire complex of the mosque and all other facilities would be known as ‘Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah Complex’. He said that Ahmadullah Shah was a great freedom fighter.
Ram temple construction will be completed in 2023
Significantly, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has said that the construction of a grand temple at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya will be completed by December 2023. It is likely that the construction of the mosque will also be completed by this time. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai had told reporters on October 25 that the construction of the temple would be completed by December 2023 and after Makar Sankranti in January 2024, duly darshan-worship would be started in the temple.
