Uttar Pradesh Crime News: The Noida unit of Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) in collaboration with Mathura Police has recovered ganja worth about Rs 4 crore in Magorra police station area of the district and arrested nine accused in this case. Police said that Noida STF and Mathura police recovered 15-16 quintals of ganja worth Rs 4 crore, kept in 36 sacks being carried hidden between rice husk sacks from Odisha. The police have arrested a total of nine people including the truck driver in this case.
Hemp was being carried hidden between sacks of rice bran
Noida STF in-charge Akshay Praveen Tyagi said that he had received information that a large consignment of ganja from Odisha was being carried hidden in sacks towards Bharatpur via Mathura. With the help of Mathura police, they stopped the truck on Mathura-Bharatpur road in Magorra police station area and recovered about 15 quintals of ganja from 36 sacks of rice husk hidden in it. Tyagi said that a car was moving in front of him and a car behind him to reach the truck safely. The STF has also arrested the people sitting in those cars along with the truck driver and the helper for helping in smuggling. He said that the arrested accused told during interrogation that ganja was supplied to several districts of Uttar Pradesh including Agra, Bareilly and Shahjahanpur and this time a consignment was intended to be delivered to Bharatpur (Rajasthan) also.
Used to smuggle ganja from other states
Tyagi said that the truck drivers Satish (Odisha) and Khalasi Vinay alias Bhura (Agra) and Mohd Alam, Furqan, Zubair Alam, Babu, Munajir, Irshad and Firoz Hussain of Waretha village of Manather police station area of Moradabad district were arrested on charges of smuggling. has been arrested. He told that this gang used to smuggle ganja from the states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh etc. and sell it at high prices in different states of the country. He said that a case has been registered against the arrested accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
