TMC Notice in Parliament on Crimes against Women: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has given notices for discussion in both the Houses of Parliament on the issue of crimes against women. Along with this, the party targeted the central government for accusing a BJP MLA of rape in Gujarat.
TMC’s Lok Sabha member Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Dola Sen and Rajya Sabha member Mausam Noor on Monday submitted notices for discussion on the need to stop crimes against women in the light of recent incidents. Sources said that the Congress, which is caught up in the objectionable remarks by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury against the President, will soon serve similar notices.
Sources said the TMC MPs have served notices after Gujarat Rural Development Minister and BJP MLA Arjun Singh Chouhan was accused of raping and imprisoned a woman.
‘Raped and imprisoned woman for five years’
Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra in a tweet tagged the Prime Minister on the issue said, “BJP MLA from Gujarat Arjun Singh raped and imprisoned a woman for five years. Hope Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday Will give a chance to the opposition soon, so that we can ask the Prime Minister to apologize. Everyone is equal before the law, sir. There will be complete peace from the drama Bahu Brigade.”
At the same time, condemning Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s remarks, many opposition leaders alleged that the BJP raises its voice vocally on the remarks against its women leaders, but remains silent on the part of the party leaders for committing crimes against women. .
