Himachal Pradesh News: Seven people died due to drowning in Gobind Sagar lake in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district on Monday. According to the police, all these deceased were residents of Mohali in Punjab. The deceased were identified as Raman, Pawan, Arun, Labh Singh, Lakhvir, Vishal and Shiva. Among those who drowned are a 14-year-old teenager, two 16-year-olds, two 17-year-olds and a 34-year-old youth.

According to the police, 11 people originally from Banood in Mohali were on their way to Baba Balakdham Deyotsiddh after having darshan. During this he stayed near the temple and went to take a bath in the lake. The accident happened at that time. According to the police, four lives were saved, while the remaining 7 drowned. On receiving the information, the police and disaster management team reached the spot in a hurry.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem

According to the information, first the young man went to take a bath. When he started drowning, other people went to save him and on seeing 7 people drowned. Una SP Arijit Sen said that the bodies of all the 7 missing people have been recovered. This information has been given to their families. SDM Bangana Yograj Dhiman said that seven youths of Punjab have died due to drowning in the Gobind Sagar lake. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.

Una District Emergency Operation Center (DEOC) said that the drowning took place in Gobind Sagar lake near Garib Nath temple in Bangana sub-division. According to the police, the accident took place at around 3:50 pm at Govind Lake near the village Kolka Baba Garib Nath temple. At the same time, it is also being said that all the 11 people had descended into the lake to take a bath. Hearing the screams, the local people somehow saved 4 people. Police and administration reached the spot and started the search for the dead bodies. Divers landed in the lake, after which all the bodies were recovered.
