Amaravati: Andra Pradesh A woman lecturer was injured by her husband by slitting her throat on Thursday in the college campus of Anantapur town. The incident took place on the Arts College campus. According to the police, the man attacked lecturer Sumangali with a knife. Hearing his cries, the students rushed to save him. The assailant fled on seeing the students. A blood-soaked Sumangali was taken to a hospital where her condition is said to be critical.

After the attack, he created a ruckus in the college campus and threatened the students as well as the teachers present in the college campus with a knife. After this he fled from the spot. Sumangali, who teaches in college, was living separately with her husband Paresh due to some problems between them. He has been transferred to Arts College only a year ago. She has been teaching in Guntur for 20 years. A police officer said that she had filed a domestic violence case against Paresh and also sought divorce.
At present, the victim Sumangali is undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Anantapur, her condition is said to be stable at present. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and started searching for Paresh.
