T20I Rankings: Ahead of the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2022, the new ranking has been released by the ICC. In the latest rankings, there has been a big reversal in the bowlers’ top 10 and the world has got a new number one bowler. Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has had to give up his number one position and has been replaced by Sri Lankan spinner Vanindu Hasaranga as the top bowler.
Hasranga took 15 wickets in T20 World Cup
Hasranga has been rewarded for his performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup. He performed tremendously in the ongoing World Cup in Australia and took a total of 15 hunts. Despite Sri Lanka’s exit from the Super 12 stage, Hasaranga remains at the top of the list for most wickets. On the other hand, Rashid, who finished first in the tournament, trailing Josh Hazlewood, has lost his own chair this time.
New position in all time high ranking
Hasaranga has rapidly made a mark in his T20I career spanning three years. He has so far taken 86 wickets in 52 matches. During this his average was 14.48 while the economy was 6.67. Hasaranga also achieved his career-best rating with 704 points and is now ranked 9th in the list of all-time high rankings. Hasaranga can bat as well as bowl spin and he remains at number 8 in the all-rounders ranking.

Big advantage for Ashwin-Arshdeep
From India’s point of view, the team’s experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has benefited the most and he has now jumped five places to number 13. While Bhuvneshwar remains in 12th place. Arshdeep Singh, a young fast bowler and a brilliant performer in the World Cup, has jumped one place to number 23.
