NZ vs IND: The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of New Zealand. Here Team India has to play T20 and ODI series. Let us tell you that both India and New Zealand are such teams who had to face a crushing defeat in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. Now both these teams are trying to make a comeback. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s star leg-spinner Ish Sodhi has given a big statement about Team India.
Sodhi gave a big statement
New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi believes that playing against a team like India in their home country is always encouraging for the hosts despite a very busy international schedule. Last year, New Zealand came to India for a three-match T20I series, followed by two Tests just a day after playing the T20 World Cup final in Dubai. While the gap between the World Cup final and the series against India was just three days, the two teams would clash in a T20I series five days after the T20I World Cup semi-final exit in Australia and the World Cup ending.
Exciting to play against India
“It’s always going to be difficult to get up at short notice these days because of scheduling. It’s only been a week since we got back from Australia, but playing against a team like India is always exciting and certainly It inspires.” Over the years, Sodhi has paired spin bowling with left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner in T20s. When asked about the secret behind the duo’s clicking in the shortest format, Sodhi said, “I don’t want to say that it is easy to be a spinner in New Zealand, because it is a tough place to bowl.”
In Wellington, Sodhi has taken 17 wickets in T20s. He feels that varying lines and lengths are the keys to success at the Sky Stadium. “It’s a very unique place to bowl. Line changes have been an important part of our plan as a spin bowling unit at this ground,” he added. Please tell that the first match of the T20 series has been canceled without throwing any ball due to heavy rain.
