IND vs PAK CWG 2022: The Indian women’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets in their second match of the Commonwealth Games 2022. In the first match, the Indian team got the first victory even after giving a tough competition to Australia. On the other hand, Pakistan has suffered two consecutive defeats after losing to India after Barbados and their road ahead has become very difficult. The match was reduced to 18-18 overs due to rain and the entire Pakistan team was all out for 99 runs in 18 overs. In reply, India chased down the target in 11.1 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Opener and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana made a great start for India and completed her fifty off 31 balls. His fellow opener Shefali Verma scored 16 runs in 9 balls and put on a brilliant 61 runs for the first wicket. Smriti played an unbeaten 63 off 42 balls while staying till the last. He hit 8 fours and 3 sixes in this innings. Besides this S. Meghna also contributed 14 runs. Earlier, excellent bowling and fielding performance was also seen from India’s side.
The bowlers took the power of Pakistan
Indian bowlers bowled out Pakistan for 99 runs in 18 overs in a women’s cricket match of the Commonwealth Games here on the back of a scintillating powerplay. The start of the match was delayed by 45 minutes due to light drizzle, reducing it to 18 overs. Muniba Ali was the top scorer for Pakistan with 32 runs. Apart from them, Alia Riaz contributed 18 and captain Bismah Maroof contributed 17 runs. Among the Indian bowlers, Sneh Rana took 15 runs in four overs and Radha Yadav took two wickets for 18 runs in three overs.

Renuka Singh also bowled her brilliant spell, starting with a maiden over which is rare in the T20 format. He took one wicket for 20 runs from a maiden in four overs. Rana took the wickets of Muniba and Maroof. Fielding was also excellent from India’s side and three Pakistani batsmen returned to the pavilion after being run out. After this defeat, Pakistan is almost out of the group stage and India has improved its net run rate with a flamboyant victory. India will next face Barbados in the group stage on August 3.
