After which the BCCI informed that he was not present for selection in the second and third T20s due to injury to the rib bone. The Indian team is currently on the tour of West Indies. Where the three-match ODI series is followed by the five-match T20 series. Harshal Patel was a part of India’s T20 squad. But due to injury, he will no longer be able to play the first three matches. The BCCI gave this information by tweeting after the toss of the second T20. It was written on behalf of the BCCI that, Harshal Patel has a rib injury and due to this he was not available for selection in the second and third T20. He is being looked after by the BCCI medical team.

The Indian team went into the second T20 with one change. Captain Rohit Sharma said at the time of the toss that he wants to go with an extra fast bowler. Due to this, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was dropped for the second T20 match and Avesh Khan got the place. Rohit said that, ‘We are sticking to our plan and the team has also come true to it. We want players to be ready to play in every position, no one spot is fixed. The conditions are different here and we want an extra fast bowler. So unfortunately Bishnoi is out and Avesh Khan has got a place.

The remaining three matches of the series are now to be played on August 2, 6 and 7.
