India Hockey Win CWG 2022: The Indian men’s hockey team thrashed Canada in their third Pool B match. The Indian team continued to attack Canada from start to finish in this match. India’s goal sequence started in the opening minutes of the first quarter and ended at the end of the last quarter at an 8-0 final scoreline. This victory almost confirmed India’s place in the semi-finals.

In the first quarter both the goals were scored by the Indian defenders.

The aggression of the Indian team can be gauged from the fact that its first goal came from a defender’s stick. Harmanpreet Singh scored the first goal for India. He fired a total of three shots at the opposing goalpost in the first quarter, of which he was successful in the third. India scored another goal in the same quarter to take a 2-0 lead. The second goal for the team was also scored by a defender Amit Rohidas, who got success in his first attack itself.

India scored two goals in the second quarter

India took a 3-0 lead in the fifth minute of the second quarter with a brilliant field goal. Lalit Kumar Upadhyay scored this goal for India. In this match, Lalit was the first player to score a goal for India, who plays from the forward position. After this, Gurjant Singh scored the next goal in the same quarter. After this goal, India got a 4-0 win over Canada at half-time.

Only one goal in the third quarter

The third quarter was lackluster in terms of goals scored, scoring only one goal. Akashdeep Singh scored the only goal of this quarter, after which the scoreline of the match became 5-0.

India scored three goals in the fourth quarter

In the fourth and final quarter, India rained goals into Canada’s post. In the last 15 games, the Indian team scored a total of three goals one after the other. In the final quarter, Harmanpreet and Akashdeep scored their second goal of the match while Mandeep Singh opened his account to ensure India’s 8-0 victory.

India reached the top of Pool B

With this victory in the Commonwealth Games 2022, India has two wins in three matches. Earlier, in their first match, the Indian team defeated Ghana 11-0 while their match against England ended in a draw.
