Mukesh Ambani Liverpool: Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani has joined the race to buy the world’s famous English football club Liverpool FC. This report is from the English daily newspaper ‘The Mirror’. The current owner of the English Premier League (EPL) club is looking to sell it to Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which bought the Merseyside club in October 2010.

Ambani eyes on Liverpool

FSG are keen to sell their club for four billion British pounds, The Mirror reported. According to the report, Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, has inquired about the club. In the rating of ‘Forbes’, the Mumbai headquarters of the world’s eighth richest Ambani and people associated with the company could not confirm this.

Liverpool club ready to be auctioned

According to an FSG statement, “FSG has received interest from third parties to become shareholders in Liverpool. FSG has already said that under the right conditions, we will consider new shareholders whether it will be in the interest of Liverpool. Under FSG, Jurgen Klopp’s team has enjoyed considerable success, winning the Premier League title, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup and the European Super Cup over the years.

The US and Gulf countries are also showing interest in acquiring the club. Ambani’s company owns the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Mumbai Indians and is a business partner of the All India Football Federation, apart from organizing the Indian Super League football competition.
