IPL 2023 Retention: The bugle of the new season of India’s popular Indian Premier League (IPL) has sounded. Ahead of the auction for the 16th season of the T20 league, the franchises on Tuesday made major changes to their squads. Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled off a surprise move by axing several of their biggest players and made the most changes. All three teams increased their purse by releasing more than 10 players ahead of next month’s mini-auction. The franchises, who spent a lot of money in the mega auction earlier this year, have made major reshuffles after the T20 World Cup.
