Jammu and Kashmir: The biggest political rally ever took place in Srinagar after the abrogation of Article 370. Thousands of people came to this rally and appealed to PM Modi to restore statehood in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest. The rally was organized by Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP). In the year 2020, former PDP minister Altaf Bukhari formed this party along with all the big rebel leaders of PDP.

Thousands of people gathered at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar, in which people from many districts were together on one stage. An enthusiasm was visible all around the stadium with the sound of dancing and drum beats. For the first time after 3 years, such enthusiasm was seen in a rally of a political party. This is the biggest ever rally ahead of next year’s assembly elections.

Altaf Bukhari said this

Addressing the people in this rally, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Chairman Altaf Bukhari said that the purpose of this rally is not to show its strength but to promote statehood, land security and employment and horticulture to the youth.

Altaf Bukhari appealed to the central government to restore statehood in Jammu and Kashmir before the assembly elections. He said that with elections being held, when an electoral government comes, the situation in the state would be better.

Altaf Bukhari said that this presence of people is for the restoration of the state. The promise made by the Prime Minister should be restored now. Altaf Bukhari also targeted other political parties and said that our party does not do politics of lies nor do we cheat people. As far as Article 370 is concerned, he is in the Supreme Court. We will continue the fight to restore him legally.

Is this a preparation for next year’s elections?

This rally is also being seen from the point of view of elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir next year. Because this time many new parties and faces are preparing to enter the electoral fray. Especially former CM Ghulam Nabi Azad is participating in the assembly elections this time in the name of his party Democratic Azad Party.

Let us inform that after the removal of Article 370, Altaf Bukhari separated from the PDP and formed his party in Jammu and Kashmir in March 2020. And this is his party’s biggest rally so far in Srinagar, in which he has shown his strength. Altaf Bukhari’s party has more than 15 such leaders, who left the PDP and came with Altaf Bukhari.

There is no government in Jammu and Kashmir for more than 4 years. Elections in Jammu and Kashmir can be announced any time after the completion of the electoral rolls on November 25.
