Jammu-Kashmir SI Recruitment: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday conducted raids at 30 locations in connection with the probe into alleged irregularities in the recruitment of Sub Inspector (SI) by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). The raids were conducted at 28 places in Jammu after an FIR was registered against 32 people, including JKSSB member Narayan Dutt, middlemen and candidates in the matter, officials said. Apart from this, raids were also conducted at one place each in Srinagar and Bangalore.
The owner of the coaching center is also under the wraps of the CBI.
The CBI has also named Karnail Singh, a medical officer posted in Jammu, Avinash Gupta, owner of a ‘coaching center’ in Akhnoor and a Bengaluru-based company in the FIR, officials said. The J&K administration had canceled the recruitment of Sub Inspector (SI) in J&K Police last month following complaints of irregularities. The investigation of the selection process was handed over to the CBI.
Unsuccessful candidates protested
Let us tell you that the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board had declared the results released on June 4. In this, it had released a list of 1,200 successful candidates. More than 97 thousand candidates had participated in the recruitment examination of Police Sub Inspector (SI). On the release of this list, unsuccessful candidates had demonstrated alleging fraud.
