Jeremy Lalrinnunga CWG 2022: On the second day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 competition, where India won four medals. On the third day, Lalrinnunga Jeremy opened India’s account by winning the gold medal in 67 kg weightlifting. He won the fifth medal for India at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games by lifting 140 kg in the snatch round and 160 kg in the clean and jerk.

How did Jeremy win the gold medal?

  • Jeremy lifted the weight of 136 kg in the first attempt Jeremy Lalrinnunga lifted the highest weight of 136 kg in the first attempt of the snatch round and also created a Games record. He will lift 140 kg in his second attempt.
  • Jeremy shines, lifts 140 kg in second attempt:- Jeremy set a new Games record by lifting 140 kg in his second attempt. He is ranked first in the snatch round and will lift 143 kg in his third attempt.

  • Jeremy won the gold medal in his name:- In the third attempt, Jeremy claimed 165 kg but he could not lift it and during the jerk he could not handle the weight and fell down holding his hand. In this way, he lifted 140 kg in snatch and 160 kg in clean and jerk and won the gold medal with a total of 300 kg.
