MLAs were raising slogans against Hemant Soren
Under the leadership of BJP MLA and former minister BP Shahi, ‘corrupt chief minister Hemant Soren resign’ was raising slogans. The BJP MLAs remained adamant that a special discussion should be held in the House on the issue of corruption. BJP MLAs alleged that the Chief Minister’s MLA representative Pankaj Mishra has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in corruption cases and cash worth crores has been recovered from him, while the Chief Minister’s media advisor Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu has been arrested for questioning. He was called on Monday and he is avoiding appearing in the ED.
Speaker tried to explain
The BJP MLAs alleged that in this situation the Chief Minister has no right to continue in his post. The BJP MLAs immediately demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his government. Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto tried to convince the MLAs a lot and urged them to go to their places and allow the Question Hour to run. But when the BJP MLAs did not agree, the Speaker suspended 4 BJP MLAs BP Shahi, Dhullu Mahto, Randhir Singh and Jaiprakash Bhai Patel from the House for 3 days.
On this decision of the Speaker, the BJP MLAs became more furious and they created a ruckus and kept raising slogans of ‘Resign the corrupt government’. Seeing the uproar, Speaker of the Assembly Rabindra Nath Mahato adjourned the proceedings of the house till 12.30 pm.
MLAs will remain suspended till August 4
Let us tell you that the monsoon session of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is scheduled till August 5 and due to today’s decision of the Speaker, all the four BJP MLAs will remain suspended till August 4. Earlier, amidst the ruckus of BJP MLAs, Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav said that those people are talking about corruption in whose government Saryu Rai, who was a minister, has written a book on corruption in the same government.
“Government cannot hide the sins of corruption”
Before suspending the MLAs, the Speaker tried his best to convince the BJP MLAs, but when the BJP MLAs came in front of the Speaker’s podium and started running the parallel house, the Speaker suspended them and instructed them to leave the house. On the suspension of BJP MLAs, former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and BJP MLA from Ranchi Chandeshwar Prasad Singh said, “It is the murder of democracy and the Hemant Soren government cannot hide the sins of its corruption by suppressing the voice of the MLAs.”
