J&K News: The campaign to free the Ghati of Jammu and Kashmir from terrorists is going on. In the encounter that started between security forces and terrorists late on Saturday evening, a terrorist was killed by the soldiers of the Sen. The encounter took place in the Binner area of Baramulla.
The slain terrorist has been identified as Irshad Ahmed Bhat of Pattan, Baramulla, who was active in Ghati since May 2022 and was associated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said. One AK rifle, two magazines and 30 rounds of bullets were recovered from him. Jammu and Kashmir Police in its statement said that, “Security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists at Wanigam Bala in Kareri area of the district. After the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, the search operation started in the encounter. The security forces retaliated, in which one terrorist was killed.
The Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly carried out this anti-terror operation. There was an old mosque near the encounter site, to protect it, the security forces covered it with a bulletproof vehicle.
