Karnataka News: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the political affairs committee meeting of the party’s Karnataka unit on Tuesday evening. Assembly elections are due in Karnataka in 2023. He will also attend the 75th birthday celebrations of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at district headquarters Davangere on Wednesday. This will be its first meeting after the formation of the Political Affairs Committee. The meeting will be held in Hubballi in North Karnataka at 8 pm on Tuesday. The coordinator of the 35-member committee is Randeep Singh Surjewala, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and in-charge of the Karnataka unit.

All the parties have started preparing for the assembly elections to be held in the state next year. Vijayendra is the vice-president of the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka. He said the party leadership would take a decision regarding his candidature at an appropriate time.
