Kuldeep Bishnoi Resigns: Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi on Wednesday resigned from the Haryana Assembly. He will join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tomorrow. Sitting MLA from Adampur Bishnoi (53) submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the Assembly, Gyan Chand Gupta. After the resignation of Bishnoi, now a by-election will be held on Adampur seat of Hisar district. The Congress had removed Bishnoi from all party posts after he did ‘cross-voting’ in the Rajya Sabha elections held in June. The four-time MLA and two-time MP were already angry with the party. He had taken a rebellious stand earlier this year after he was not appointed as the chief of the Haryana unit of the Congress.
Kuldeep Bishnoi broke ties with Congress for the second time
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s younger son Kuldeep Bishnoi is breaking ties with the Congress for the second time. He joined the Congress again about six years ago after parting ways with the party. Bishnoi also hinted on Tuesday that he may join the BJP. He tweeted, “August 4th 2022, 10:10 am.” After this he tweeted, “Don’t be afraid to start afresh. This time there is a chance to do something better.
Had met top BJP leaders in recent days
In recent weeks, Bishnoi had held meetings with top BJP leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Bishnoi had met Nadda and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Delhi to discuss political issues. On July 10, Bishnoi had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Nadda in Delhi. After meeting BJP leaders, Bishnoi had praised him fiercely. The Congress had last month removed Bishnoi (53) from all party posts. Since then, there was a heated discussion of his joining the BJP.
