Indore district court on Monday sentenced the convict to life imprisonment in a four-year-old case of raping a one-year-old girl. Simultaneously, it recommended the state government to give a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the victim girl. An official of the Prosecution Department gave this information. Special Judge Surekha Mishra sentenced Sonu Bansal to life imprisonment in the case under section 376 (a) (b) (rape of a girl under 12 years of age) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the perpetrator. Late on September 29, 2018, Bansal kidnapped a one-year-old girl in MG Road area of the city while she was sleeping with her parents and four-year-old sister, a prosecution department official said. According to the official, the four-year-old girl woke up her parents and told them that her younger sister was lying on the ground. He told that the panicked parents reached the spot and saw that their baby girl, a victim of rape, was injured and they immediately admitted her to the hospital.
Tried to rape 4 year old girl
The official said the perpetrator had also tried to strip the couple’s four-year-old eldest daughter, but she somehow managed to escape and come to her parents.
