Aurangabad: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said on Thursday that Narendra Modi could become the Prime Minister of the country because the Congress protected the Constitution. While addressing a rally, Kharge fiercely targeted the BJP and the Modi government. Kharge said that the BJP government had promised to provide 2 crore jobs every year, but it failed to fulfill its promise. He also accused the Modi government of selling public properties to a select few.

‘We saved the constitution, then Modi became the PM’

Addressing a rally in Maharashtra’s Nanded during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Kharge said, “BJP leaders often ask what Congress has done for the country. PSUs set up by Congress are now being sold. We saved the Constitution, so you (Modi) became the Prime Minister. He said that the BJP government had promised 2 crore jobs every year. “Now they are providing only 75,000 jobs. Where are the 18 crore jobs?’

‘The property of the country is being sold to a select few’
Kharge alleged that the Modi government was selling airports, seaports and the country’s wealth was going into the hands of a select few. In this rally, Congress’s Maharashtra unit president Nana Patole, former Maharashtra minister Balasaheb Thorat, Nationalist Congress Party state president Jayant Patil and Congress leader Ashok Chavan also targeted the BJP. Let us inform that more than 2 months have passed since Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ started and it has reached Maharashtra via many states of South India.
