Modi-Mamata Meeting: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday held a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at PM House. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has also shared a picture of this meeting, which lasted for about an hour. In a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Banerjee said that due to the implementation of Gramin Rozgar Yojana-MNREGA, PM-Awas Yojana and PM-Gramin Sadak Yojana, she has requested several times to intervene in relation to the immediate release of funds for the state. In her memorandum, Banerjee has presented the details of the total amount to be given to the state under various schemes and benefits. Banerjee has several times accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government of delaying the payment of Goods and Services Tax (GST) to states, especially those ruled by opposition parties.
