Moeen Ali RECORDS: England all-rounder Moeen Ali has scored a half-century in just 16 balls in the first T20 match against South Africa. With this, the left-handed batsman holds the record for the fastest fifty in T20 Internationals for England. He has overtaken his teammate Liam Livingstone. Livingstone achieved this feat in 17 balls against Pakistan on 17 July 2021.
Batting at number five, Moeen took an aggressive approach from the beginning and played a quick innings. Moeen hit two fours and four sixes during his 52-run knock. He shared a century partnership of 106 runs in just 37 balls for the fourth wicket with Jonny Bairstow. In this Moeen contributed 52 runs in 18 balls.
The 35-year-old spin all-rounder with his record-breaking fifty has become the joint sixth-fastest half-century player. He has equaled Shay Hope. Let us tell you that the world record for the fastest half-century in T20I is still recorded in the name of India’s legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj made a 12-ball fifty against England in Durban in 2007, in which he hit six sixes off six balls from Stuart Broad.
