Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Varanasi on 19 November.

Varanasi: The formal launch of ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ is taking place from Thursday in Kashi, the spiritual capital of the country. Kashi Tamil Sangamam is being organized to find the link between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, the two oldest centers of knowledge, culture and heritage. For the next 2 days, there will be song-music programs in the ceremony, and on November 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the main event of ‘Sangam’ at the Amphitheater Ground of Banaras Hindu University. Several seminars and symposia will be organized in this month-long program.

Various programs will be held in Sangamam

At Sangamam, the guests will travel in groups to Chennai, Coimbatore and Rameswaram on 12 different routes via trains. Each group will spend 8 days from start to return. These groups will participate in academic sessions and visit other places including Kashi, Ayodhya. Along with this, you will also enjoy Ganga cruise. Kasi-Tamil Sangamam brings together various aspects of knowledge – literature, ancient texts, philosophy, spirituality, music, dance, drama, yoga, ayurveda, handloom, handicrafts as well as innovation, business exchanges, ‘edutech’ and next generation technology Topics will be focused.

Indian Railways has also made big preparations
Indian Railways will run 13 trains from Tamil Nadu to Varanasi during the month-long ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’. Out of this, the first train will leave on Thursday carrying 216 delegates. Of these, 35 delegates from Rameswaram, 103 from Tiruchirappalli and 78 from Chennai will board the train, officials said. He said that Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi will interact with the delegates and flag off the train at Chennai Egmore Railway Station. Altogether, 2,592 delegates will come by these trains, officials said. He told that these trains will stop at 21 stations on the way.

Railway will bring more than 2000 students
Railways will bring over 2,000 students from various universities of Tamil Nadu to Varanasi by train under a special programme. Railways will arrange special coaches for these students coming from different backgrounds. These students will participate in the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ program to be organized in Varanasi. At the same time, IIT Madras and BHU will work as knowledge partners in the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ initiative of the central government.
