Kanwar Yatra 2022: Shravan month started a day after Guru Purnima kanwar yatra On Tuesday, Shivratri ended with Jalabhishek. On Tuesday also 30 lakh Shiva devotees picked up the Ganges water and left for their states. During the 13-day long Kanwar Yatra, three crore 80 lakh 70 thousand Kanwariyas lifted the Ganges water. On the last day of the yatra, DM Vinay Shankar Pandey and SSP Dr. Yogendra Singh Rawat congratulated the officers and personnel on duty for the successful completion of the Kanwar Yatra.
Kanwar Yatra started from July 14
Guru Purnima festival was on 13th July. Kanwar Yatra started from 14th July. A large number of Kanwariyas started reaching Haridwar on the eve of 13th July. The administration had expressed the hope that about four crore Kanwariyas would reach Haridwar. Accordingly the facilities were created. Traffic plan was implemented from the highway to the city.
Kanwar Yatra completed safely with Shivratri
The traffic system on the Delhi-Haridwar highway was normal till Kanwar on foot, but from July 20, the movement of dak kanwaris started. From July 22, both sides of the highway were occupied by Kanwariyas. The kanwar continued day and night and the noise of the DJ did not stop. In the last three days of Dak Kanwar, there was a gathering of Kanwariyas everywhere. From Bairagi camp to Harki Paidi and adjoining ghats and link roads, only kanwariyas were seen.
VIP Ghat was completely occupied by Kanwariyas. On Tuesday, the Kanwar Yatra ended safely with Shivratri. Due to this the administration and police breathed a sigh of relief. From Wednesday, the departure of police and central security forces who came on fair duty from outside districts will start.
Flowers showered on Kanwaris
This time on the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, kavadis were welcomed from place to place. In Meerut, IG Praveen Kumar and DM Deepak Meena showered flowers on the kavdis from the delicopter. CM Yogi also inspected the Kanwar Yatra in western Uttar Pradesh by helicopter. CM’s helicopter passed from Pura Mahadev temple in Baghpat to Kali Paltan temple in Meerut. During this, he welcomed the Kanwariyas by shaking hands from the helicopter itself.
