Pradeep was opening his shop located in Kotkapura when unknown assailants shot him.

A Dera Sacha Sauda follower was shot dead by some unidentified assailants on Thursday morning in Punjab’s Faridkot district. He was an accused in the sacrilege incident of 2015. Police said that Pradeep was opening his shop located in Kotkapura at the time of the incident and Pradeep’s bodyguard was also shot in the attack. On the other hand, gangster Goldie Brar has taken the responsibility of this murder. Goldie Brar is the mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. The entire incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed nearby. Pradeep was one of the accused in the 2015 theft case of a ‘beed’ (copy) of the Guru Granth Sahib in Faridkot. He was currently out on bail.

CM appeals to people to make peace

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann appealed to the people for peace and said that no one will be allowed to disturb peace in the state. Mann said in a tweet, “Punjab is a peace loving state where the mutual brotherhood of people is very strong. No one will be allowed to disturb the peace of Punjab. Strict instructions have been given to civil and police officials to maintain peace in the state.”

Police is investigating the matter

Director General of Police (Faridkot Division) Pradeep Kumar Yadav said that the police have got some clues, action is being taken on that basis. Police said that the accused would be arrested soon. Police is also probing the CCTV footage of the incident, in which it has been seen that five people came on two motorcycles. Let us tell you that after an episode of sacrilege from the pages of Guru Granth Sahib in Faridkot in 2015, there were protests across the district. In October 2015, two people were killed in Behbal Kalan, while some were injured in Kotkapura, Faridkot, in police firing on protesters.
