On the occasion of World Science Day, know about these Indian women scientists, who have contributed significantly to the progress of the country.

Gagandeep Kang is a Virologist and Scientist. He is known for his interdisciplinary research into the transmission, development and prevention of intestinal infections of children and their sequelae in India. She was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) and is the first Indian woman scientist to receive this honour. Gagandeep is the Executive Director of the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), Faridabad, and the Chairman of the World Health Organization (WHO) South-East-Asia Vaccination Technical Advisory Group.
