Ghulam Nabi Azad : Ghulam Nabi Azad was thinking of writing a letter for 9 years. A letter containing the entire letter of Congress and especially the Gandhi family. Congress is saying that if Rahul Gandhi’s Congress did not send him to the Rajya Sabha, Azad left the Congress. But what is the whole truth? Did Rahul say in the meeting that all the leaders should raise their hands who have called Modi a chowkidar chor. Ghulam Nabi Azad and senior leaders close to him did not raise their hands in this meeting. Not saying Modi as ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ cost Ghulam Nabi Azad dearly and this angered Rahul. Congress says that Rahul sent Ghulam Nabi Azad to Rajya Sabha repeatedly and made him the Leader of Opposition of Rajya Sabha. Ghulam Nabi Azad’s argument is another. Ghulam Nabi’s point seems right here, Ghulam Nabi Azad did not get a ‘confirmed’ seat of Rajya Sabha for the last three times, once he had to arrange for thirty MLAs. The second time 13 MLAs had to be mobilized and the third time 18 MLAs had to jugaad.

When did the fight between Ghulam Nabi Azad and Rahul Gandhi started?

The talk started from 2013, there was a Congress meeting in Jaipur. Ghulam had submitted a complete report to the party on how the organization fought the elections. The report was to be discussed the next day, but the next day Rahul was made the party’s vice-president and work on that report did not start for nine years. Ghulam claims that he repeatedly reminded Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, but nothing happened. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi lost the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Did it become very difficult to meet Rahul Gandhi? Ghulam Nabi Azad wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi? At that time Ghulam Nabi was the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Ghulam’s argument was that there was no election for 25 years so your family members (Sonia, Rahul or Priyanka) should start meeting Congress leaders. Sonia Gandhi named KC Venugopal, then Ghulam said Venugopal was in school when I was general secretary. When Ghulam Nabi talked to Rahul, Rahul told the name of Randeep Surjewala, Ghulam Nabi said that Surjewala is very junior, Surjewala’s father used to work under him. When the talks stopped, the G-23 was formed.

Is there much difference between Rahul and Sonia?

Ghulam Nabi Azad openly says that Rahul neither listens nor does anything. Sonia Gandhi started listening after becoming the president. The one who had the experience of winning the election was given the responsibility of winning the election. Rahul Gandhi resigned because rest of Congress leaders did not call Modi a chowkidar chor hai. Rahul’s only complaint was that his idea was not liked by senior leaders and no one followed him. During Sonia Gandhi’s time, a team used to take decisions. Ghulam claims that Rahul used to ask his security guards and personal staff who should be given what position.

Are Rahul Gandhi and Narasimha Rao similar in organization?

Ghulam Nabi was also a minister at the Center during Azad Narasimha Rao’s time. Ghulam Nabi explains that both Narasimha Rao and Rahul Gandhi are the same regarding the organization. Rao was also not interested in running the organization, Rao also did not give time to the organization. Same is the case with Rahul. Ghulam says Narasimha Rao was a great Prime Minister but a very bad Congress President. Before the elections in 1996, Azad repeatedly said that the organization should be looked after. Azad, along with his colleagues, formed teams of Congress in different states and when he went to Rao, Rao asked him to put the data in his computer. Rao’s personal computer lived in his bedroom. Azad sat down with Madhav Rao Scindia and fed the entire list into Rao’s computer. But those names remained in the computer. never appeared.

Will the Congress survive the new president?

Congress has been losing elections continuously for the last three and a half years. In the year 2018, Congress won Madhya Pradesh, managed to win Rajasthan and got bumper votes in Chhattisgarh. Since then the Congress has been losing the elections. Rahul Gandhi expected from Kerala, the government in Kerala keeps changing in five years. In the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul got the maximum number of seats from Kerala. There was a strike rate of 90 per cent. Rahul himself became an MP from Wayanad. But in the assembly elections, Rahul’s party could not win Kerala. Lost badly to Kejriwal’s party in Punjab. The formed government of Madhya Pradesh went away due to the departure of Scindia and Shivraj became the Chief Minister again. Meaning that after 2018, the Congress did not win the election and those who had won also lost. Therefore, the party’s fortunes are not going to shine with the arrival of a new president. Those close to Rahul are still sitting on the assumption that at some point the magic of Modi will end and the number of Congress will come. Elections cannot be won just by making hashtags trend on social media. Gradually, the veteran leaders of the states have ended with the Congress. Most of the voters are youth and Congress does not want to come out of history and do new experiments. Experienced leaders are the sidelines and new leaders have social media followers but no mass base. This is the real problem of Congress.
