Raipur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat has given a statement in gestures on the issue of conversion. Mohan Bhagwat, who reached Chhattisgarh tour, said in gestures on the issue of conversion, ‘Beware of people who cheat by taking advantage of our innocence. There are many people who cheat. Without using the word conversion, Bhagwat said that now we have to wake up. Remain firm for your country and religion. We should not forget our sanskars and deities.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on Monday termed the pride of tribes as the pride of India and stressed that people should understand tribes and stand with them to protect the country, religion and culture. Bhagwat’s statement came after the state’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that incidents of religious conversions have increased under the Congress rule.

Bhagwat gave an address in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh

Addressing a function on the occasion of ‘Tribal Pride Day’ in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district, Bhagwat called upon the tribals to remain strong against those who try to cheat them by taking advantage of their gullibility. A large number of tribal community people participated in this program organized by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram at Ranjita Stadium here.

On the occasion, the RSS chief unveiled a bust of former BJP MP and former Union Minister Late Dilip Singh Judeo. Judeo launched a ‘ghar wapsi’ campaign to bring the tribes back from Christianity in the Jashpur region. Dilip Singh Judev passed away in the year 2013. Bhagwat said that the birthday of Bhagwan Birsa Munda (November 15 is celebrated as Tribal Pride Day) and the unveiling of Dilip Singh Judeo’s statue are linked or coincidental.

Judev was brave and fearless: RSS chief

He said that Judeo was brave and fearless and he remained humble in spite of name, fame, wealth and power, he always stood up for the pride of the tribes. He said that Judev had a lot of love for the country, religion, culture and countrymen. He said that this love also inspired ‘Bhagwan Birsa Munda’ to fight for all of us.

He said, “What is tribal pride? Then said that the tradition of our ancestors is our pride, because it tells us how to live. She gives us a legacy of valour, purity and intimacy. It gives us the courage to fight in the struggle of life.

Bhagwat said that in the matter of religion, tribal pride is the religious pride of India. He said that the religion of India has grown in the fields and forests, all the religions of India have been given to India by farmers and forest dwellers. He said that apart from seeing purity in all, our religion sees God in rivers, streams, animals, birds, therefore it is a friend and lover of the environment. It does not spoil the environment for its progress.

He said that our brothers, who live in forests and consider environment as deities, have taught us this, so tribal religion is not only of tribes, but of the whole of India. The RSS chief said that to protect the tribal society, to protect their pride, to increase their pride, one should stand with them like Dilip Singh Judev ji stood.

He said that the pride that Indians have, is needed by the whole world. But for this, India has to stand up holding this pride. He said, “Let us recognize that pride and not forget it, let us not forget our 16 sacraments. Let us not forget our Gods and Goddesses, our ancestors and their might. Because if you forget then even the mighty ones become weak.
